Good day all. I know I said that I would try to keep the posts more regular but I talked to my only reader recently so posting seemed like a lost cause. I've been busy too. Not too busy to post but busy enough that I never thought of it. I have the bulk of my midterms this week so I have been silently preparing for those. My week of isolation went ok. It was much less isolated than anticipated. Ah well. I did spend the bulk of my time alone, but that is the usual for me so no adjustment was necessary. Overall I had a good time and got a goodly amount of work done. I like using words that are close to proper but not quite. I enjoy that.

I found a compact disc that I had made years ago. Its fun to travel back in time like that. Speaking of traveling back through time I recently watched some older movies, such as "The Color of Money" (1986). Good flick, well I enjoyed it. I liked it so much that I ordered it off e-bay. Ya, I do that still. Speaking of movies...big Oscars tonight. I'll sell out here and talk about them a bit. I don't like them. I feel the same about them as I do about music awards. Just another excuse for people to get liquored up. I saw some of the movies on the docket and saw some upcoming ones. Looks like there will be more of an emphasis on CGI in the future. Great. So we'll pay the same for tickets and for DVD's and everything and the actors will get paid their millions but now that CGI technology is in place the movie companies don't have the huge budgets that they used to so the rich get richer. I may be reaching with that one but its Sunday and I'm tired and alone. So put that in your pipe and smoke it and then dispose of the ashes in a manner that is environmentally friendly so these movie fiends will have a nice backdrop to model their next virtual set on. Boo-ya!

It's him again. Phillips back on board. Your probably asking yourself how this is possible. How can he be posting, he should be back home enjoying a week off school. Well suckers its not gonna happen. I stayed behind. I have oodles of work to do and its not conducive for me to do work at home. I tried it the past couple of years to no avail. This year I have much more so attempting that could be dangerous to my academic health. I do of course regret my choice. I've chosen school work over my family and friends but in the long run I think it is for the best. If I get the chance to do my masters I have to have the marks. I need the marks from this semester to be higher for that to happen I need to work at it. If the bulk of my midterms had been on the front side of the break I would be gone. That's just the way it works out. If you're wondering what the point is, there isn't one. I'm just trying to fill in my already lonely day with inane chatter. The days are long with only school to fill the void. I'm going to take up cleaning to help pass the time.

Last night Brown swung by and we went downtown for a few hours. We went to Tony's of course. I was impressed. I won all but a couple of matches. If you know what Tony's is then you'll know what I'm talking about. If not, well that's tough beans. Time to get it on, work style. You know it! Go Cubs Go!

Good day y'all. Today I learned what the plural of y'all was. Its "all y'all". I love it. Thank you Ellen Degeneres Show. I tune in regularly. I also admit to have watched and enjoyed her ill-fated sitcom back all those years ago. She is still a hoot in my mind. So this past week the Grammies came and went. I didn't watch or take interest as usual. Music awards just don't do it for me. I guess I'm not into modern music although I support it and enjoy some of it. My real thrill comes from the older stuff and the smaller stuff, call me crazy but I like it. Plus, I'd much rather support a small outfit struggling to stay afloat than one of those ridiculously rich stars of the main stream. They are always whining about people that download music. Too bad, we can't afford the new Bentley this year cause kids are enjoying our music for a reasonable price or even, God forbid, for free. Those heathens! They go on about how its stealing and whatnot. I can't comprehend it as stealing. I guess for the newer songs that are "leaked" (ie stolen by an insider and put on the internet) that you could consider the original person a thief but to all the others? I think of it simply as a man stealing a loaf of bread and sharing it with his family. Are his starving kids stealing too. I think that he stole it and he's sharing it. The kids shouldn't be punished. I don't think I could come up with a more biased and unfair example. Life is still good but I figured that I would try to stir up some controversy. Email me atphillips@sharksfan.com if you want to tear me a new one or if you want to send some kudos. I'll be waiting for your kudos. Thanks all y'all.

The time has finally come. I have much to discuss this go-around. Of most recent valour I am distinguished and proud to bring to the public forum that I have, after months of anticipation and delight, downloaded the phenom known simply to the mortals as Firefox. (trumpets blare) This was prompted by the sufficient prodding and encouragement of my over-lord, the superpulous (probably not a real word as indicated by the devilish red flare underscore) Wood. Recent attempts to communicate with the "man" have failed as I frequently leave the room for hours at a time after commenced conversing. This new browser isn't doing it for me though, many of the flash games that I waste my time with no longer function. It will have to stand the test of time to remain part of me and my system.

On a lighter note I'm back on the poker band-wagon. I went on a mythical adventure yesterday to many fine establishments within city limits. My most enjoyed were the electronics/games store and the furniture factory outlet. I saw everything that I've always wanted to waste my money on under one roof at the former and the sweetest chair ever at the latter. I would never buy the chair, you would have to build your home around it, its massive and unforgivably expensive. The other store had more viable purchases such as nice poker chips (a lifetime investment if I buy them) and sweet tables for pool, poker and beyond. I really am a sick individual, but I love it. Televisions were also viewed. My associate Brown is interested in the purchase of a large television. I support his decision.

As we have every Friday in recent memory (this and last) Dave and I proceeded to the Portly Penguin and played pool. Results are that over the two week period I came home with a 4 and 3 record...that's officially. In the hearts of fans and me I was 5-1-1. Lots of controversy surrounded the first Friday's matches. Two of his wins are still under protest by the league board. Time to eat. And the phone is ringing...on the off chance that it is for me I bid you adieu.

Well, well, well. We meet again. We visually meet again, well my text meets your eye again. Anyways. Here we are, arrived at another Superbowl. For those interested we are throwing a Superbowl nacho party. We were going to throw an international nacho party but other than French nachos (gravy and cheese on it) and the traditional Mexican style we really couldn't think of anything else. So as it stands there will be a small cost for anyone outside of Dave, Brown and I; at our discretion. We reserve the right. I pick the Eagles to win it all. I hate the Patriots cause they always win and because I don't like pretty boy Tom Brady. I don't know why, I just don't.

Last week I did a paper and not much else. I re-discovered my love of listening to music in bed and the thrill of trying to do as little as possible for school and still get by. Weird guy Phillips, weird guy. Speaking of weird guy I bought a buttload of candy last night and I'm currently working my way through some gummi worms. Should be good for a tummy ache. I tire. That is all for tonight, I'll hit you back later.
